Team personel details : Dr. Norman Mukasa

Secretariat of the East Africa Scientific Research Network (EASRN).

Dr. Norman Mukasa is the head of the Secretariat of the East Africa Scientific Research Network (EASRN) and the Director of Research and Postgraduate Studies at Muteesa I Royal University.He is as well a member of the International Network for Interdisciplinary Research on Children Born of War (INIRC-CBOW) and the Research Data Alliance (RDA).

He holds a PhD in International and Intercultural Studies, and a European Masters in Sustainable Regional Health from Deusto University in Spain. His research interests include: post-conflict social development with a particular focus on gender, children and youth in Sub-Saharan Africa; poverty and development issues of marginalised groups; and health care financing systems. Dr. Mukasa lectures research method and development studies at Graduate School of Bugema University and at Muteesa I Royal University in Uganda.

He is the East African coordinator for the International Summer School in Uganda on Survey methodology and Data Management organized jointly by GESIS - Leibniz Institute for Social Sciences, Germany, www.gesis.org/summerschool and Muteesa I Royal University, Uganda and financed by the VW Foundation. He is the co-founder of the East Africa Scientific Research Network (EASRN)—a network formed in 2019.

An established cooperation exists between Dr. Norman Mukasa, Uganda and GESIS – Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences, Germany as Dr Mukasa has been holding various GESIS visiting researcher grants since 2012. In addition, alongside Prof. Dr. Dr. Simone Haasler / GESIS, Dr. Mukasa Norman is co-applicant of Knowledge for Tomorrow – Cooperation Research Projects in Sub-Saharan Africa; a project that trained 60 early career scholars in 2019.

He has established collaborations with research and data-based institutions in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, such as the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS), Wilsken Agencies, Dlab Tanzania as well as academic and non-academic stakeholders.
